Travel Hockey
Our Northstars and Hornets travel program provides the opportunity for those players with a high determination to excel and play at a higher level. Most Northstars teams participate in the Little Caesars Amateur Hockey League (LCAHL) while the Hornets play in the Michigan Girls Hockey League (MGHL).
Ages
Northstars travel teams are by single birth year from 10U and up.
Tryouts are held according to dates as dictated by the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA).
When
Travel teams can officially begin Sept 1 and continue through their playoffs determined by their league or state.
Split season high school aged teams run from August 1 until Nov 15 or high school tryouts begin.
Where
Teams will practice and play home games at the Midland Civic Arena and occasionally at another local rink if ice availability warrants as such.
Practices/Games
Teams typically have two practice sheets and one game sheet to use per week. Teams are limited to game count as dictated by MAHA.

What is the cost to play travel?
Travel hockey costs more due to the fact that teams are getting more practices, games, and tournaments as required by the leagues and to stay competitive. Individual team costs vary based on their decisions on tournaments, equipment, etc. Please consult your team manager or coach for specifics for your team.
