House Hockey
Our house program offers an encouraging environment where the players have fun while learning the fundamentals and growing in their skills in the sport.
Ages
Players will be placed on teams from 6U up to 14U according to their birth year.
When
Draft and most initial skates will begin immediately following the Labor Day holiday. Stay tuned for exact dates and times by division. Season will run until early to mid-March.
Where
Practices and home games are played on the two rinks at the Midland Civic Arena. Most away games are played in nearby local rinks and also as far as Sanilac, Bad Axe, Tawas.
Practices/Games
Teams will touch the ice on average 2-3 times per week.
Extra Costs
Teams typically participate in a few tournaments each season with the cost to attend to be divided amongst all members of the team.
Jerseys
Jerseys are handed out at the beginning of the season and returned to MAHL at the end of the season. Socks are yours to keep at no cost.
Frequently Asked Questions
How are players placed on teams?
10U and up divisions hold an official draft in which coaches rank and place players so teams are evenly distributed by skill (there is not an A or B team where one is considered more talented than the other). 6U and 8U teams also are divided up by skill so team play is fair.
